The Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) Citrus County Chapter president, Tim Holme, CAPT (Ret) USN, presents a plaque of appreciation to Ms. Lorraine Clark of Suncoast Service Dogs, during the September 8th monthly chapter meeting. Ms. Clark gave a presentation explaining the mission of Suncoast Service Dogs. The all-volunteer organization provides assistance to those with verified medical disabilities with a task trained Service Dog as defined by ADA Federal Law.
Charles “Tim” Wayne, a former U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeant and disabled veteran, explains to chapter members how the dog he partnered with, in cooperation with Suncoast Service Dogs, improved his life.
The Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) Citrus County chapter meets at the Crystal River Golf Club the second Thursday of each month from September through May. The luncheon meeting takes place at 11:30AM and includes a speaker presenting a subject of interest to the military community. The chapter also has other various functions throughout the year. Active duty, former or retired military officers, who are currently members of the national MOAA organization, are invited to attend.
