REACH FOR THE STARS ADVANCE

A flowing wave of her hand and a whole lot of bling, and Tinker Bowman will transform into Vanna.
With the grand awesome task of elaborately showing off the auction items at the Key Training Center’s Reach for the Stars Dinner Auction, Vanna is practicing her moves and hand motions so she can be as quick to the bidders as the TV Vanna is to the letters on the Wheel of Fortune.
“I’m up to the task,” she said somberly; but then smiled as she eyed the avalanche of items that she will be showing off at the traditional fundraising event to take place Friday, July 10, at the Chet Cole Life Enrichment Center.
With a first rate auctioning crew providing the mesmerizing chant and bang of the gavel that draws guests to place their bids, Vanna knows she is in good hands. Even more so, she understands that the guests will be in good hands as the evening’s activities offer opportunities to purchase items never seen before in a charitable auction.
There are a lot of auctions out there in the charitable arena, said Key Foundation Director Neale Brennan. “So it is up to us to make each item unique, more appealing, more interesting, and more irresistible.”
In keeping up with the “celebrity” tradition which was this event’s trademark since the first Run for the Money kick off dinner auction in 1982, many items are autographed by celebrities and offer true bragging opportunities for those who will be the owners of such items as:
• Vinyl “Born to Run” signed by Boss Bruce Springsteen
• Baseball signed by Rays third-base prodigy Evan Longoria along with 4 tickets to a game at the Trop
• Garfield comic strip signed by creator Jim Davis.
• Phil Mickelson print lt. Ed. 66/99 COA signed by artist Winford which comes with two foursomes on Citrus Hills greens and lunch at Terra Vista
• Message in a Bottle novel signed by author Nicholas Spark
